The game to watch this round was at Board 1, where former World Champions Adam Logan (CAN) and Nigel Richards (Wru) faced each other. The last time they played, in Toronto, Adam scored a narrow win in a low-scoring defensive game. In a similar game this time, Adam was ahead 336-300 with two in the bag, but he held AIINOOS with unseen tiles were ADEOSTTY?.

It's lunch after this game, from 13:00-14:00, but we're running ahead of schedule so the lunch isn't set up yet as of 12:40. Pakorn Nemitrmansuk (Wsc) comes to inquire about the meal, and I accuse him of deliberately playing too quickly to put me in this difficult situation. He retorts that while he (unusually) hasn't lost any points so far to overtime penalties, he did use his full regulation 25:00 in his last game.

Lewis Mackay (Eng) scored 493 points this round, and Brett Smitheram (Eng) scored 492. Unfortunately for each, their opponents, Ming Hui Hubert Wee (SGP) and Neil Scott (Sco) each scored 504. Two new high losses at this event.

Correction: lunch is set up, just in a different place from yesterday, because the neighbouring ballroom is vacant.
