Wiegand a two-time U.S. National Champion, is one of the few people in the room with as complete a knowledge of the entire playing lexicon as Richards, and can unscramble any anagram up to 15 letters in a matter of seconds. At Board 2, it's defending Champion Pakorn Nemitrmansuk (Wsc) vs. Andrew Fisher (AUS); Fisher, along with Wiegand, are the strongest players who have yet to win this event. At Board 3, Craig Beevers (Eng) vs. 1997 Champion Adam Logan (CAN). Beevers beats Logan 566-419. Logan resignedly volunteers his services in producing the finals tomorrow. Nigel beats David 478-400 and opens up a two-game lead over Pakorn, Andrew and Craig.
