Chollapat Itthi-Aree (THA) loses 455-457 to Helen Gipson (Sco) on Board 4, and it's not even in the top ten highest losses: Helen herself lost with a 455-470 to Mark Nyman (Eng) in Round 7 yesterday. As I'm typing this, a slip comes in with a 477-475 win by Odette Carmina Rio (PHL) over Ming Hui Hubert Wee (SGP). That one is the fourth-highest loss so far. Average players at this event score 423 points if they start, 408 if they reply, so we make sure that starts and replies are carefully kept belanced.

As of this round, we've relabelled players who have qualified through past tournaments as being part of their national teams, at least in the TSH coverage including the Scoreboard. So the defending champion, Pakorn Nemitrmansuk (Wsc) is now shown with a Thai flag, the 2009 runner-up Nigel Richards (Wru) is on the New Zealand team, and the World Youth Chapmion Jen Ho Ker (Wysc) is from Malaysia. That helps those teams in the team rankings, although the top three are still Northern Ireland, England and Eire, with Wales sixth and Scotland seventh.

In the individual standings, Brett Smitheram (Eng) moves up from third to second, and closes some of the spread gap to Adam Logan (CAN), after beating second-place Marut Siriwangso (THA) 528-266. Adam stays in first place, with a 459-328 win over Paul Gallen (NIr).
