Lunch was excellent, served from a buffet efficiently set up immediately outside the playing room, so that players could watch the scoreboards, mingle, talk postmortems and eat all at once. I had a curried chicken, prosciutto, green beans, salad, and if anyone is wondering what happened to the apple pie, I confess I knew I would be getting hungry by the end of the day and prepared accordingly.

At the top two tables, Nigel Richards (Wru) had a 501-285 win over Brett Smitheram (Eng) and Ming Hui Hubert Wee (SGP) beat Allan Simmons (Sco) 473-457, so Nigel moves to first place, but Hubert slips to fifth following strong wins by Marut Siriwangso (THA), Edward Martin (Eng) and Trevor Mark Hovelmeier (ZAF).
