Pakorn Nemitrmansuk (THA) faces Andrew Fisher (AUS) at Board 1 this round. At stake for Pakorn, surpassing Matt Graham's record for longest WSC winning streak, and one of the two games he'd like to win to make it to the finals. At stake for Andrew, any hope of making it to the finals. Pakorn beats Andrew 492-443, bingoing HUMANELY, VOCALISE, SKEWInG to ANdrew's TARSIOID, ISLANDER and EXAlTING. Pakorn gets a round of applause for his record-breaking 14-game winning streak, and remains in first, 17-4 +1274. Dave Wiegand (USA) beats Sherwin Rodrigues (IND) 444-414 and is in second place, one game back at 16-5 +1001. Nigel Richards (Wsc) beats Jim Kramer (USA) 481-381 and is in third place, 15-6 +1625. David Boys (CAN) stays in the running with a 505-408 win over Helen Gipson (Sco), giving him fourth place, 15-6 +1001. There are four players at 14-7 still in the running: Naween Fernando (AUS), Komol Panyasophonlert (THA), Jason Katz-Brown (USA) and Mark Kenas (USA). |
