Wellington Jighere (NGA) plays Joel Wapnick (CAN) at Board 1. Jighere won again last round against Hubert Wee (SGP) 372-340, his seventh consecutive win, and is the only player at 12-2. Nigel Richards (NZL) lost to Ganesh Asirvatham (MYS) 551-356 last round but remains in second place at 11-3 and faces John O'Laughlin (USA) at Board 2. Wapnick beat Panupol Sujjayakorn (THA) 515-494 last round and stayed in sixth place.

Played by either Wojciech Usakiewicz (POL) or Herve Bohbot (FRA) in their game: CGINORS through NE, see photo.

Sam Kantimathi (USA) played IIMRRU? through V, and later someone hooked the I on it, see photo.

Seen on Mark Schellenberg (CAN) and Ron Hoekstra's (CAN) board: EIIIRT? through R, see photo.

There appears to be a small problem with word judges ambiguously ticking unacceptable words. ZYGAE* came back ticked and was understood to be acceptable; the error was discovered a few turns later. The play stays on the board but scores 0. See photo.

Earlier Jason Katz-Brown (USA) played TERMINATES through -ATE- against Adam Logan (Wsc). Just now, against Phil Robertshaw (Eng), his second play was BUNDY; later on he played EF, placing the E in S-BUNDY to make SEBUNDY.

Mohammed Zafar Ali (BHR) thought that going into the endgame against Michael Baker (USA) with a 414-403 lead might be safe. Baker however triple-tripled ACEIITV through an N to win 598-404 instead. Ouch. See photo.

Last game this round was Ron Hoekstra (CAN), who beat his countryman Mark Schellenberg (CAN) 397-396 after a lengthy recount.
